TWO BOOKS IN A WEEK

Someone told me my blog was "petix"
petix - (adj.) very light, carefree, non-intellectual
I told him I didn't care because my blog was not meant to be smart and anything.
I just wanted to share my life.
My interests.
Who I am. :)

Anyway...

This week, I bought two books. No Fear Shakespeare's Romeo and Juliet and The Perks of Being a Wallflower.

I actually don't know why I bought Romeo and Juliet's No Fear version. It's really sort of an impulsive purchase.

I've loved Shakespearean plays since I was in sixth grade. And now that I'm in fourth year high school, I haven't quite gotten over it.

While I think the storyline is so tragic (and sometimes stupid, in the words of my best friend), the way by which Shakespeare shares the story of the infamous star-crossed lovers is very heartwarming. Nobody else can do it like Shakespeare does.

But soft! What light through yonder window breaks?
It is the east! And Juliet is the sun!
Arise, fair sun, and kill the envious moon
That is already sick and pale with grief
That thou, her maid, art far more fair than she...

Perks has been recommended by most of my friends. So when I saw that it was just for Php300 (or $6) I grabbed my own copy! :)

I was somehow glued to it for two days. I love stories written as if they're just retelling a tale to a friend (which is probably why I love Bridget Jones so much). It's filled with a ton of life lessons. The honesty by which the story was written was just heartwarming, specially in the end.

However, it somehow covers a few sensitive topics which are definitely not for kids.

So that's my reading list for the week. How about you? :)
Tell me about it and comment below.
